Zipangu Fest is excited to be participating in Movie MayDay, a FREE day of cinema, live music, cinema trails, virtual tours, filmmaking competitions, quizzes and talks blanketing the whole of London's East End. Running over 8 hours with hundreds of free screenings, from 12-8pm, and covering a staggering 88 venues, Movie MayDay will feature everything from documentary to animation, experimental film to music video.
Zipangu Fest will be joining the fun with a special London resurrection of some of the films from its horrific Ero Guro Mash Up Night programme screened at Zipangu Fest 2010.
This shocking selection of nightmarish animations from underground filmmakers Naoyuki Niiya, Hiroshi Harada and Takena Nagao, including the legendary Man-Eater Mountain sits firmly within this hybridised East-West freakshow tradition, and promises an experience you won't soon forget! NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED.
The programme will be screened twice during the day so you can choose your perfect time. This special Zipangu Fest celebration of East End Film Festival's 10th Anniversary will be taking place at Kinkao Restaurant (176, Brick Lane London, E1 6RU) at 1.00pm and at 3.00pm on Monday, 2nd May 2011. The screen will be located in the basement of the restaurant, so come in and don't be shy! And remember: you don't need a ticket because it is a FREE event, so just head to Kinkao and enjoy!
